Great London Picnic Spots
May 16, 2018
We’ve had some great weather recently, which of course puts us in mind of picnics! We recommend ringing in an order to Warda and dropping by with your cool bag before heading off to one of these great London picnic spots. Grab a couple of our lunch platters, with a range of delicious dips and bread and some sambousek and fatayer (you might not be able to resist eating them enroute while they are still hot, but rest assured they are just as yummy cold!)
If you’re after a picnic with a view, there are few better than the iconic Primrose Hill. The climb to the top of the hill is worth it – don’t look behind you until you reach the top then enjoy as the sprawling city skyline is laid out in front of you. It’s right next to London Zoo, too, if you fancy a visit after your delicious Warda feast!
Another meal with a view can be found in Greenwich, London’s oldest Royal Park .There’s lots to see and do from a visit to the Greenwich Planetarium to walking through the University. Top of the hill again for beautiful views of the river and City behind.
Victoria park is known as ‘the People’s Park’ - it’s the oldest public park in London, opening in 1845. When you’ve finished tucking into the best picnic ever, you could hire a boat for a mooch around the lake!
If you like weird and wonderful then the grounds of the Horniman Musuem are a great destination for Operation Warda Picnic. Afterwards you can stroll along the nature trail or visit the Grade II listed conservatory or just head straight for the free museum (which is the weird and wonderful, the grounds are just wonderful!)
You can’t have list of picnic places with a view and not include Hampstead Heath. The view over London from the top of Parliament Hill is glorious. There are loads of spots for your picnic too, including Kenwood House. And if you need to cool down after your picnic has gone down, why not try a spot of wild swimming in the ponds?
